Los Angeles, and San Diego at both the basic life support and critical care transport level.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
A BLS ambulance can be dispatched for any transport that requires basic medical support (e.g. dialysis treatments, procedures, routine transports, emergency room admissions, etc.). Each BLS ambulance is staffed with two certified emergency medical technicians (EMT), both of which are equipped with all medical supplies as required by each service area.
Critical Care Transport (CCT/SCT)
In the event that a patient requires a higher level of care than what the BLS EMT can provide, Premier utilizes the services of a higher medical authority such as respiratory care practitioners (RCP) and registered nurses (RN).
Each RCP ambulance is staffed with a licensed respiratory therapist in addition to a BLS EMT staff. These specialized ambulances carry advanced airway supplies, such a ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP devices, and tracheostomy suctioning equipment.
Each RN ambulance is staffed with an experienced ICU or ER nurse in addition to a BLS EMT staff. Each RN critical care transport unit carries equipment for cardiac monitoring, IV supplies, advanced airway equipment, and medication pumps.
24/7 Call Center
Premier’s Communications Department is open 24 hours each day and prepared to assist all patient transport requests as well as coordinate all active ambulances. Each dispatcher is trained to use state-of-the-art dispatching equipment, including computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software and GPS services. The addition of utilizing city and county maps as well as traffic advisory services helps ensure that all ambulances respond to patient transport requests with the quickest and most efficient route possible.
Premier also proudly offers standby support for customers and facilities that are hosting special events. Such support includes first-aid stations and on-site ambulances. Healthcare facilities, city officials, and private organizations have all utilized stand-by support by Premier to help ensure that there is immediate attention available in the event that an injury or medical emergency is to occur during a scheduled event.
In that past few years, Premier has proudly offered standby medical support for city events, hospital fundraisers, sports tournaments, concerts, and movie productions.
Premier Medical Transport is permitted to offer continuing education (CE) courses for medical professionals.
